Compare What Florida Medicare Plans Actually Include

Mitchell Budwig, Licensed Insurance Agent

By Mitchell Budwig, Licensed Insurance Agent

We offer 13 Medicare Advantage plans across Florida from 9 carriers, and 8 carry no monthly plan premium. What separates them is what comes included — dental, vision, hearing, drug coverage, allowances, transportation, Part B giveback. Those benefits vary widely, and so does which plans you can enroll in, because Medicare approves them one county at a time.

Answer four questions and we'll shortlist your plans

4 questions · about 2 minutes · takes just a moment

Step 1 of 5

Where do you live?

Medicare Advantage plans are approved and priced county by county across Florida.

Most people are not worried about the premium. They are worried about losing their doctor, or finding out in January that a prescription moved to a higher tier.

No cost, no obligation. Medicare caps what an agent can be paid, and the carrier pays it whether you enroll with us or on your own. Your premium is exactly the same either way. We never sell your information, and you can ask us to stop contacting you at any time.

Three ways to shop

  • Shop by county

Find plans in your county

Statewide availability is wider than what you can actually join. CMS approves each plan county by county, so the list you can actually enroll in is shorter than the one shown here. Two neighbors in different counties can see different plans, different premiums, and different provider networks at the same address type. Open your county page to see the exact plans, prices, and networks approved where you live.

Comparing Medicare Advantage plans in Florida

Why do the plans available to me depend on my county?

CMS approves each Medicare Advantage plan for specific counties, and carriers price and staff their networks county by county. A plan sold in one Florida county may not be sold in the next one over, even a few miles away.

Should I shop by carrier or by plan?

Either is a reasonable starting point. Shopping by carrier is useful if you already have a network or extra benefit you care about; shopping by county is more accurate because it only shows plans you can actually enroll in from where you live.

What does the star rating sort actually tell me?

CMS rates plans on a five-point scale covering preventive care, member experience, customer service, and complaint handling. Sorting by star rating surfaces the highest-rated plans first, but it does not account for whether your own doctors and prescriptions are covered.

Is a $0 premium plan actually free?

No. A $0 monthly plan premium does not include your Medicare Part B premium, and you still pay copays and coinsurance as you use care, up to the plan's annual out-of-pocket maximum.

Does it cost anything to use the quiz or talk to an agent?

No. Licensed agents are paid by the insurance carriers, so there is never a fee to you for comparing plans, using the quiz, or enrolling.
